Dr Pedro Borrego has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and in 2011 completed his PhD in Pharmacy at the University of Lisbon. During his PhD, Dr Pedro Borrego studied the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), in particular the molecular epidemiology, evolution and susceptibility to entry inhibitor drugs. In the last 7 years he was an Invited Adjunct Professor at Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz, teaching practical classes of Biostatistics, Microbiology and Molecular Biology. Currently, he is a Research Associate at the Research Institute for Medicines, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon. He has published 14 articles (5 of those as first author) in international peer-reviewed journals, 3 book chapters and several communications in national and international meetings. In addition to his academic activities, Dr Pedro Borrego also works as a scientific consultant and collaborates with Scientific Toolbox in the Medical Writing and Training departments. Presently he is also receiving postgraduate training at the renowned NOVA IMS, the Information Management School from NOVA University.
